Donnie Brasco (1997)

I first watched the film donnie brasco in 2000 and since then have watched it a dozen times and also read the book "my life in the mafia" by Joseph D Pistone.
The film is under rated and is a classic in my eyes the actors portrayal of the story is excellent aswell has the direction.
The film is based loosley on actual events (if you read the book) and tells the story of Joe Pistone a FBI agent played by Jhonny Depp who goes undercover to infiltrate the mafia of new york. And befriends Lefty Ruggiero a mafiosa and collects evidence on the mafia family's but gets himself deeper into there lives nearly destroying his marriage and becomes to much to bear.
He befriends lefty so much so that he knows that when everything comes to light and his found out that Lefty will be the one who gets punished. Also in the movie is Michael Madsen who plays sonny black the boss of the outfit.

This film is a must for Al Pachino and Johnny Depp fans and is up there with the best like Scarface. I cannot believe this movie dident get more credit then it deserved i highly recommend this movie 10 out of 10 in my oppionion see what you think.
